According to Bridgeport Fire Department (BFD) officials, working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a home fire nearly in half. Through BFD’s SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES Program, they can install free smoke alarms in 1- and 2-family houses and owner-occupied 3-family dwellings within city limits.
